5. Wet a section of the pool surface with a hose thoroughly. Leave the hose running, as you need it to quickly rinse off the acid later.
8. Pour your diluted acid onto the wet section of the pool, from top to bottom. Scrub the acid vigorously. After approximately 30 to 45 seconds, rinse away the acid with the hose.
9. Drain the diluted acid and soda ash mixture from the bottom of the pool. Refill the pool with water, adding chlorine, and other chemicals as necessary.
Safety is FIRST, so ensure you wear overalls, rubber boots, protective glasses, gloves, and a face mask when working with chemicals. It's a good idea to have someone else helping you, in case of an emergency, and also to help rinse off the acid quickly to avoid streaks.
